Google Business Profile: the shop window that rings your phone

A project, a question?

For a local business, the Google Business Profile often matters more than the website: it is what appears on the map, with the “Call” button.

Type “physio Montreux”: before any website, Google shows a map and three profiles. Those three free spots receive most of the calls. Your Google Business Profile is therefore the first thing to get right, even before the site.

1. One single profile, in your exact name

Business name as it appears on your sign, with no added keywords. Duplicates (old address, former manager) should be reported and merged.

2. The right category, then the secondary ones

The primary category decides which searches you show up for. Choose the most precise one, then add two or three secondary categories you genuinely practise.

3. Address, opening hours, phone: identical everywhere

Google cross-checks your profile against your site, directories and social networks. One comma of difference in the address, and trust drops. Special holiday hours: enter them in advance.

4. Recent photos, and your own

Shopfront, interior, team at work, completed projects. A profile with recent photos gets noticeably more clicks for directions and phone calls.

5. Reviews: ask for them, and reply to all of them

Ask every happy client for a review, with a direct link. Reply to every review, good or bad, in one or two calm sentences: future clients read your replies more than the reviews themselves.

6. Services and products, with prices

The “Services” section accepts descriptions and “from” prices. It feeds directly into specific searches (“end-of-lease cleaning”, “showcase site”).

7. Posts, from time to time

A new item, an offer, a photo from a job site: one post a month is enough to show the business is alive.

8. Linked to the site

The profile links to your site, and the site confirms the same information with structured data. It is this pair that Google — and AI assistants — use to recommend you.

In short: a complete, consistent and active profile makes the phone ring. We set it up with every site, and monitor it as part of the monthly SEO follow-up.

Is your profile complete?

The SEO & GEO audit (from 390.–) goes through your Google profile with a fine-tooth comb, along with the site.
